I love watching my half-and-half (or other creamy liquid) mix in with my coffee every morning. It's like free abstract art.
Speaking of which, I've discovered an awesome dairy-free (and calorie-friendly) alternative to half-and-half - Almond Breeze coconut almond milk blend. It tastes like a Samoa cookie. Take it from this former Girl Scout - it's good.
Or Almond Breeze chocolate almond milk. In hazelnut coffee, it tastes like dessert. In a cup. In liquid form. Like a hot melted nutty sundae.
We just got a new coffee maker (in case you hadn't figured that out already). It's a Keurig. I think I might name my next cat Keurig. That's how much I love this thing.
We use our K-cups twice - sometimes we let them cool off and dry out a bit and then just use the same cup (brewing a smaller cup size), or sometimes we just put it through two quick cycles. Is that wrong? Are the K-cup police going to knock down our door with their super-caffeinated fists?
The only thing I have a problem with is that the K-cups aren't recyclable. I feel really bad about that. So if you're some sort of alternative artist living in Brooklyn and you're looking to make a statement on the degradation and wastefulness of modern society via a gigantic K-cup sculpture, let me know.
Moving on.
Keurigs are great as hot water makers, too. Because heating water on the stove is simply too difficult.
But really, they make good hot water. I use mine to make oatmeal all the time, and it works really well. Except for the first time when I hit the wrong brew size and ended up with oat water. But at least it was hot oat water.
Keurig didn't sponsor this post. My slightly-caffeinated, overactive imagination did.
They make refillable k cups! I hear it's a good bottle warmer too. ;) if you like almond breeze's chocolate, try silk's dark chocolate almond. It's worth the few extra calories. Thank me later. ;)
