PiYo Day 23: Core

Having a Beachbody coach is the way to go.

Yesterday, I was feeling kind of low. My workout wasn't fulfilling me, and I was worried that nothing I ever do will be enough. That I will never get there.

I wrote about it and linked this post on the wall of the Facebook group I'm in, PiYo Push. And just like that, I had support - from my coach and from another member of the group. Keep going. It'll get easier. It's always like this in the third week of a workout.

It is?

It's amazing how just sharing your experience makes you feel like you're not alone. You get feedback from people who have been where you are and felt the exact same way.

Today I decided to do the Core workout, even though the calendar said I could have opted for Hardcore on the Floor. My back has been sore this week (the workouts are definitely increasing in intensity, and at the same time I'm getting used to the moves so I'm trying harder and not just watching the whole time!), so I opted to play it safe.

Those curl up/side plank/PiYo pike series can kiss my ever-firming ass. How does anyone keep up with that pace? I mean, obviously the people in the videos do, but I am nowhere near keeping up. I'm so focused on keeping my core tight and avoiding floor-crumpling that I get in maaaaaaybe two reps. And I am completely out of sync with the Fantastic Four on the screen.

But that's okay. Chalene said so herself: "I don't care where you are, as long as you're not just sitting there!"

Thanks, Chalene! You always know just what to say.

  1. Awesome job! I can't keep up with the pace on most of the 21 day fix videos so don't feel alone. They are super fast but I do what I can!
