Me and Pat Hiban, podcast partners! |
Monday, I attend the Whole Foods sneak peek, complete with a tour, a band, and lots o' food.
Tuesday, my boss asks me to co-host a podcast with him all about life in Howard County, at which point I nearly pass out from a combination of excitement and anxiety. I keep my wits about me long enough to think of the perfect topic for the first episode (hint: it involves homemade gelato cakes).
Yesterday, I brave the organically-fed (and thus much less prone to rioting) crowds at the Whole Foods Grand Opening extravaganza down at the Downtown Columbia lakefront. I come out with ten packages of raspberries (hello, doorbuster deals), two baguettes, and one rather harried Sous Chef.
A literal lot of people |
We're going to talk food (of course), restaurants, events, businesses, arts, entertainment, agriculture, planning, projects, health, wellness... pretty much anything that's going on in Howard County, we're going to do our darndest to let you all know about it. And if you hear of anything cool going on, give us a call and let us know so we can tell everyone about it!
Our premiere episode is all about the new Whole Foods, the future Haven on the Lake spa, and the changes coming to the Columbia Lakefront over the next 30 years. Yep, the plan is a thirty year plan. You could buy a house tomorrow and pay off the mortgage before they're done. It's gonna be for reals.
A tree. Made out of kale. I'm in love. |
So if you've ever wondered what my voice sounds like, or, you know, want to know everything about Howard County (I won't be offended if your interest lies mostly with the latter), please feel free to tune in this time every week (or at the very least, listen to Episode 1 below).
HoCoLife Episode 1: Whole Foods grand opening and Downtown Columbia Revitalization
The podcast will also be available on iTunes soon. I'm going to be on iTunes. I'm officially one step closer to being Beyoncé.
Until next week, Live HoCo!
P.S. If any of you cyber-geniuses know how to actually embed the podcast into a Blogger post (you know, so instead of a link, you just play the podcast right from here), please let me know. I will give you all the shout-outs.
