I do, however, understand that there are once again lots of things going on in Howard County, Maryland.
Fall brings with it a sort of frenzied energy; the start of the school year, the final crop harvests, the preparation for the holidays. Admit it, you feel an upswing in commitments, appointments, and to-do lists nowadays, don't you?
Well why not put some of that energy towards others? In today's podcast, we talk about some local events that are paying it forward:
- The Columbia Association Youth and Teen Center's Annual Clothing Drive: Now through Nov 30, donate your new or gently used clothing, shoes, and accesories. Go here for a list of donation sites.
- Victoria Gastro Pub's running festival, benefitting the Ulman Cancer Fund: What better way to follow up exercise than with a beer and some barbecue? Go here for race info, and here to get your meal tickets!
- Out of the Darkness Community Walk, benefitting the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention - Go here to learn more about the event and register, or go here to support me as I walk to prevent suicide!
- Susan G Komen Race for the Cure, benefitting breast cancer research and prevention: Go here to learn more about the race events in Hunt Valley and to register
We also talk about a HUGE music event happening at Merriweather Post Pavilion this weekend (hint: put on your cowboy boots!) and the upcoming Choose Civility week here in Howard County, Maryland.
As always, please like our Facebook page to get the latest on HoCo happenings and events.
