{Things I'm grateful for this week}
My favorite podcast. I've "known" Chalene ever since I bought her first Turbo Jam DVD eight years ago. What I love most about her is that she reminds me that we're all just trying to do our best - in fitness, health, and just life. Her podcasts are incredibly relatable and helpful, and if you've got your own business, she has another podcast devoted to mastering social media marketing. Listening to her feels like I'm having a cup of tea with an old friend.
Let there be light. Thanks to this handy dandy gadget, I not only get the white noise I need to fall (and stay) asleep, but it's a whole lot easier to wake up before dawn so I can be amazing for even more hours of the day.
Amazon.com wish lists. Some people frown on them because they think it takes the "surprise" out of gift giving, and I definitely see that side of things. On the other hand, and more importantly, it takes the "Dear God what were they thinking when they got me this" out of gift giving. Plus, Amazon hides recent purchases from you unless you choose to Grinch yourself and reveal what's been bought, so there's still a bit of the Surprise factor left.
Holiday break traffic. No school buses! Half the commuters! Sure, you may have the week off, but I'm saving a whopping $2.37 in gas mileage!
A Christmas tree that refuses to drop any needles. Sure, it's a ticking time bomb of dried out kindling, but it sure is pretty, and it will make clean-up later this week an absolute breeze - I think. For those of you that keep track of such things, it's a Noble fir.
My little snuggle bunny. She makes working at a computer so much more fun.
I want a more detailed review of the alarm. :) Have you used the light feature that turns on gradually starting 30 minutes before your alarm time? How does it work? I used to have lamp that claimed to do this, but the light made a buzzing sound that woke me up as soon as it turned on!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great design - it was recommended to me by a friend who wakes up early every day and swears by it. Yes, the light clicks on a half hour before alarm time, and gradually gets brighter. It starts off relatively bright to begin with, considering the room is in total darkness. But it's a gentle brightness nonetheless. This particular model has a few alarm settings. You can wake up with just the light, the light and a chime, just the chime, the light and aromatherapy (beads included), or just the aromatherapy. I use the continuous white noise, and when I wake with just the light, the white noise turns off at alarm time - a good "back-up" alarm. If you use the light + chime feature with the white noise, the white noise turns off at alarm time and the chimes begin (softly at first, very quickly gets louder). I've gotten up at 5AM every day this week, and though I've been groggy (who wouldn't be groggy at 5AM?), it's been MUCH easier to get out of bed. =) Hope this helps!
DeleteHi, Really great effort. Everyone must read this article. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteE, have you listened to the podcast "Serial" yet? It's fascinating. Sarah Koenig at her best. Download it today on your computer or smartphone.
ReplyDeleteSous Chef just finished it. He advises me not to listen based on my overactive imagination and the fact that the heinous details went down not too far from here! I do love a good crime story, though...
ReplyDeleteI don’t know how should I give you thanks! I am totally stunned by your article. You saved my time. Thanks a million for sharing this article.
