1. "Mirepoix" is the sort of word that once you're on the lookout for it, you hear it everywhere. Sous Chef and I heard it several times in a culinary context, and he wondered if it referred to the mixture of celery, onion, and carrots known as "The Trinity". Thanks to this Daily Meal article, we now know the answer.

2. Oh, I am so this list. #4 is my life, so much so that I always keep an umbrella at work because no matter how many times I look at Weather Kitty, I never really think it's going to rain.
