I am a woman who is on a journey to live a healthy life, and to experience the ups and downs and twists and turns that come my way while on that path. I believe that while my past may have set me up with some unhealthy habits, I can not use that as an excuse to keep them any longer - if I'm wise enough to know where the habits came from, I'm also wise enough to do something about them. I believe that a healthy life does not come with an endless list of strict rules and regulations, but is rather the product of a lot of hard work and a lot of fun. I believe that there is no such thing as a "bad" food. I believe that most things taste better when you make them with butter. And I believe that the key to a good life is "Everything in moderation - including moderation."
Here are a few more things about me:
I recently left a Montessori teaching career to pursue writing (and whatever full-time work will fund my writing pursuits). I have lost many hours of sleep trying to think of a good business name. Tina Fey is my professional idol. Smart is the new sexy.
I can (and do) find humor in absolutely any situation. Really. Try me.
I am grateful to be married to a beautiful, wonderful, kind, caring, intelligent, talented man who has shown me the definition of unconditional love. I am a mother to two similarly-gifted cats.
I am a hopeless romantic. Not in the Where-is-my-Prince-Charming-to-come-and-solve-all-my-problems way, but rather because I believe that the answer to all of life's problems - a disruptive child, a hurtful past, a bulging waistline, even a burned casserole - is, quite simply, love. Love in all its forms - passionate, unrequited, platonic, accidental, romantic - when all is said and done, when the guests have left, when the trash has been taken out, when the dishes have been put away - love is all you need.
