Small Potatoes

1.  Looooooong story short: I passed my real estate licensing exam.  No more studying.  More time to cook.  "Elated" doesn't begin to describe how I feel.

2.  I have been on a ridiculous egg kick lately.  They're cheap, high in protein, and do pretty much anything you ask them to.  They're like a pushover friend - always there for you, no matter how much you smack them around.  And this slideshow of ways to have eggs for dinner proves it.

3.  Speaking of which, I just made roasted potatoes with poached eggs, fresh tomato, and a tomatillo water.  That's right, tomatillo water - because when you blend something with water and spoon it over food, it's automatically classy - and since it's so watery, you can't really call it salsa like you were planning on doing.

4.  For the love of Pete, is it Thanksgiving yet?

5.  I read this book and now am a certified expert in all things Fabulous.  I've seriously quoted this book about ten times this week.  The Sous Chef is divided - part of him is impressed, and the other part of him wants to hunt Clinton Kelly down and yell at him for creating the Etiquette Monster that is Me.

6.  Have you ever listened to French CafĂ© radio on Pandora?  You should.  Unless no one is listening to Pandora anymore, in which case Clinton might come and de-certify my fabulosity.

7.  Being fat sucks.  But apparently, I'm really funny when I talk about it - hence one reader commenting to me, "I know you're depressed, but you're freakin' hilarious - you should do stand up!"

8.  Thank you, dear Reader, but I'd much prefer a gig as a non-chef TV chef.  What?  That job's already taken?  Oh well, at least I've got the real estate thing to fall back on now.
