Gratituesdays

{I'm posting about five hours before it's officially Tuesday, because about twenty minutes ago I caught a glimpse of my naked body in the mirror and didn't recognize myself.  I immediately found my mind spiraling down into that place that no one likes to spiral down into, and I wanted to redirect my thoughts towards gratitude.}

1.  Last week, I attended a blogging and social media workshop presented by HoCoBlogs.  The guest speaker was David Hobby.  His impassioned yet laid back lecture reignited my desire to write, and helped me refocus onto my main goal: to blog about getting healthy.

2.  At the workshop, I made a new friend, Brooke.  This says a lot, because believe it or not, I'm actually really shy at public events like this was.  Brooke is a wonderful photographer and experienced blogger in her own right - her blog is all about nail polish!

3.  I have to give a shout out to the Sous Chef this week.  I've had many ups and downs as I realize that refocusing on my goal to get healthy first and foremost means admitting just how far I've strayed over the last year or so.  There have been tears.  There have been tantrums.  There have been manic episodes of denial, sometimes involving brownie batter.  And he has been by my side the whole time.

4.  Jen Lancaster.  Her books make it a little easier to be where I am right now.

5.  I was featured on a Daily Meal slideshow about eggs and my blog traffic has jumped up by about 50% because of it.  All because I watch too much TV.

6.  I am grateful for you guys.  I really am.  Thank you for reading my little piece of things.

What are you grateful for this week?

  1. Thanks, Elizabeth! And if you figure out how to blog your way to healthy, tell me how!
