#Gratituesday: Better late than never

It's been a rough week; so rough, in fact, that I almost forgot to remember some of the things for which I am grateful:

1. Chia seed: Just a tablespoon of it in my morning shake, and I am full until lunch. Amazing.

2. Target: For reminding me that I'd rather have my thighs constantly rub together, producing enough heat to power a small kitchen appliance, than have the grossly distorted thigh gap you so poorly Photoshopped. It looks like she's straddling an invisible Lego.

3. The fur balls that live with me: Even in my darkest moments, they still come up to me and press their little heads into my hand, asking me for a small token of love while giving me a huge lift in return.

4. This video: I do this all the time. We've had to put extra padding around the dining room floor.

5. Reconnecting: The mother of one of my top five favorite students (I figure I can play favorites since I'm not a teacher anymore) recently joined FB, and it's been so nice reconnecting with her and her daughter. I'm already FB friends with other parents from my teaching life, and it makes me all warm and fuzzy inside to get little updates here and there.

6. Warmer days: Of course, as I'm writing this, a cold front is moving in and beginning the fifty-degree drop in temps we're going to see tonight, but it's nice to have these days while they last.
