Small Potatoes

1. A lioness at the National Zoo gave birth to four little cubs this week. As soon as I saw them, I wanted to adopt one. Do you think the condo board would approve it? Would it grow up to be tame, or would it eventually eat us?

2. I took this "Which 'Golden Girl' Are You?" quiz and I got Rose. I'm not sure what to think about that. I was definitely the "Rose" in my group in college; I specialized in blurting out random thoughts and playing the ditz. The catch - you have to be really smart to play that role convincingly.

3. Have you seen the latest offering from Dunkin Donuts? I wonder if the DD press releases are automatically uploaded to This Is Why You're Fat. There's just no point to eating any of their food unless your goal is "I want to be fatter and die at a young age".

4. But...ohhhh. When I was a kid, the strawberry sprinkle donuts were my FAVORITE. And then one day I saw that very same donut on The Simpsons and I thought, "How awesome is it that Homer and I like the same exact donut?" I will always have a soft, strawberry-flavored spot in my heart for those.

5. There are too many books that I want to read. Just...too many. Every time I go to the library now, I'm simultaneously inspired and overwhelmed and terrified and invigorated. It's quite exhausting.

6. Speaking of the impossibility that I will ever read all of the books I want to read, perhaps this shpankin' new app will help me. But then again, if I were to use it, would the subtle nuances that make great literature so moving be swept aside in the name of "progress"?
