Let me correct that: The Sous Chef found a farmers market.
While I was at the Federated Media headquarters learning more about the blogosphere, he was strolling around the San Francisco waterfront finding treasures like the Ferry Plaza Farmers Market. The Market was a little over a mile away from where I was, but the Sous Chef walked all the way back to come and get me and take me back there during my hour-long break between sessions.
Since it took about twenty minutes to walk there one-way, I only had a few minutes to stroll through the market before I had to turn around and walk back. Apparently, this particular farmers market serves about 25,000 shoppers a week. This is not child's play, my friends - this is the real deal...
They had everything from fresh fruits and vegetables to artisan breads and other baked goods, jams and jellies, meats and dairy, cheeses, street food...so much to look at in so little time! If I lived in San Francisco, I'd go to this market every week. You could tell that it also served as a gathering place for the community. Street performers played music and danced; parents walked their small children around and bought them freshly baked goodies. It was a beautiful day for a stroll through the market!
Add this to my list of places to revisit the next time I'm in San Francisco!
